Obituary of Doug Bonk
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Douglas Lawrence Bonk, long-time resident of Dawson Creek, British Columbia, on Saturday, February 12, 2022, at the age of 92 years.
Doug was born in Swift Current, Saskatchewan on July 12, 1929, the second oldest son born to Vernon and Nellie Bonk with brothers Norman and Alvin.
Doug loved life, and will be missed by all his church families, especially his brotherhood with the Shriners (60 years). So many acquaintances he made in his lifetime, always keeping up with his visits with them allhaving a quote or a saying, a joke, or just a pick me up visit, or to ask how he can help.
His memory was phenomenal, with places, people, and events. It was never ending, so Doug had the time of his life and did the best job he could being a logger, fisherman, truck driver (his favorite), a farmer, volunteer, a friend, a family man, and a human being.
A special thank you to all who were there for Doug when he needed support
Doug was predeceased by his wife Evelyn in 2014.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Doug on Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at 1 pm in Reynars Funeral Chapel. Marilyn Carroll will officiate. For friends so wishing, donations may be made to the Gizeh Shriners of BC & Yukon, 4238 Lozells Ave Unit 102, Burnaby, BC V5A 0C4.
Very Respectfully, Reynars Funeral Home and Crematorium
