Obituary of Lisa Hunter
It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Melissa (Rice) Hunter, a long-time resident of Dawson Creek, British Columbia on the evening of Sunday, March 27, 2022, at the age of 64 years. Lisa passed away peacefully in her home with Wayne by her side, after a 16-year battle with bone cancer.
Melissa was born on Saturday, June 29, 1957, in White Bay, Newfoundland, to parents Norman and Phoebe Rice.
Her great desire to be a mom happened in 1990. We believed through Gods love and design, we adopted our daughter and became mom and dad. Melissa loved our daughter unconditionally and greatly!
When Lisa was told she had bone cancer in 2006, she said, I have a choice to die with cancer or to live with cancer and I choose to live with it. That she did! She remained so positive that doctors asked her to talk to other cancer patients to encourage them; she did that with eagerness and great compassion!
Lisa loved being a born again Christian and lived her life to that purpose. She loved people, loved helping people with whatever they needed and loved being with people. Lisa was truly an awesome representative of a Godly women in all her life.
Though we are saddened greatly and miss her beyond measure, we rejoice that she now rejoices in the presence of her Lord and Savior!
Until we meet again, my love and we will! We will shout, Look and see what The Lord has done!
Lisa leaves to mourn her loving husband, Wayne; daughter Jamie-Anne, whom she loved with all she had; her large family; Waynes very large family; as well as many extended family and friends.
A Celebration Of Life for Lisa will be held at a later date. For friends so wishing, donations may be made in memory of Lisa to Networks Ministries, 10500 13 St, Dawson Creek, British Columbia, V1G 3W5.
Very Respectfully, Reynars Funeral Home & Crematorium
