Obituary of Sharon MacLean
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sharon Ann MacLean, a resident of Hudsons Hope, British Columbia, on Wednesday, February 8, 2023, at the age of 78 years.
Sharon was born in Port Alberni, British Columbia, on Tuesday, January 16, 1945 to Gordon and Audrey Watson.
As a young girl, Sharon lived in Muncho Lake, British Columbia, before moving to Wonowon, British Columbia where her dad helped build the highway as part of the army. The family then moved to Deep Creek, British Columbia. Sharon attended school in Muncho Lake, Wonowon, and Bear Flats.
Sharon was most happy in the mountains, spending a lot of time there as a teenager at her Uncle Jim Watsons. When she was older Sharon enjoyed spending time in the mountains around Toad River, British Columbia, and Tuchodi.
Sharon and her husband, Art McLean, ranched on the Halfway River for 34 years, raising horses and then cattle. Their four children grew up there as well. During that time, Sharon worked for the Halfway River First Nations for 21 years, as a bookkeeper, and later as the Band Manager.
Sharon always enjoyed the outdoors and spent as much time there as possible. She spent her later years ranching with Lynn at Cache Creek and enjoying her time in Hudsons Hope.
Sharon was predeceased by her husband Art McLean; brothers Bob Dick, Earl Watson; sister Holly Mosser; nephews Grant Watson and Dustin Alexandervich.
Sharon was survived by partner of 14 years Lynn Bovee; children Kanina (Jim) Fulton, Tara (Ed Bodo) Fantham, Erin (Gerald Bahm) McLean, Kayla (Brandon) Bidulka, Derrick (Tammy) Bovee, Kara Doray, Lisa Chisolm, and their families; grandchildren Rance, JR, Hailey, Chad, Reena, Lane, Trent, Ridge, Sierra, John; great-grandchildren Kruise, Rip, Lucas, Lash, Ellie, Ezra, RJ, and Brooklynn; best friend Ruth Vance; as well as many extended family and friends
A Memorial Tea will be held for Sharon at the Northern Grand Hotel, Fort St John, BC, on Saturday, February 11, 2023, from 1-4pm. For friends so wishing, donations may be made in memory of Sharon to Friends Of Hudson's Hope Society, 10324 Gething St P.O. Box 247, Hudson's Hope BC, V0C1V0
