Obituary of Scott Douglas Bruvold
With a heavy heart and profound sadness, we announce the passing of Scott Douglas Bruvold. A loving father, a cherished son and brother, adored uncle and loyal friend to many, Scott passed away on Saturday, April 6th, 2024, at the age of 50 in Dawson Creek, British Columbia.
Born in Fort St. John, BC, on September 27th, 1973, he was known for his love of music, his outgoing personality and his love for his favourite sports teams, the Blue Jays and the Canucks. You could always count on him to brighten the mood of a gathering with his performances and always made everyone feel special and loved around him.
Scott is survived by his children Hayden (Hannah and Adeline) and Abigail (Caleb, Lucius, Amelia and Sophia); mother Brenda (Terry); siblings Tim (Sabrina) Ryan (Heather), Kory (Brianne) and Kara; nephews Ryan Jr., Ethan and Josh; nieces Kaitlynd, Danielle, Elizabeth, Arabella and Jolene; as well as many other relatives and friends who were fortunate enough to know him.
He was predeceased by his son James, his father Douglas, and his best friend Brian.
He worked many different jobs throughout the course of his life, being a manager, an equipment operator for the City of Fort St John and a variety of jobs in the mill. He also played drums in a few bands with his family and his friends, but his greatest accomplishment and all his time was devoted to his children and their kids. He was a loving father and grandfather, always making sure his kids and his grandkids were taken care of.
Although his beloved kids, Abi and Hayden, are beyond devastated, they know their children have a guardian angel like no other watching over their kids as they grow up. He was known as “Pop-pop” to his grandchildren, and his spirit will live on through them, and all who got the chance to be a part of his life. We as a family take comfort in knowing he will be reunited with his son James, his dad, his grandparents and many relatives, close friends and pets he lost before his passing.
There will be a Celebration of Life for Scott at a later date. Details will be announced in the near future.
Very Respectfully, Reynars Funeral Home & Crematorium
