Cameron Gold

Obituary of Cameron Chester Gold

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of  Cameron Gold, resident of  Dawson Creek, British Columbia, on Sunday, September 24, 2023, at the age of 71 years.

Cameron was born on March 21, 1952, the 2nd of 2 children to Chester and Josie Gold in Swan River, Manitoba. The family moved to Dauphin, Manitoba when he was 10 years old. Cam worked on the farm with his dad as a young lad. His older sister, Lorraine married and lived in Minitonas, Manitoba.

Cameron lived in many places across the country, mainly in the west. It was in Saskatoon that he met his wife, Clara. They were married for 38 years before his passing. Together, they raised 5 boys and 1 girl.

He was a mechanic for most of his working years, fixing everything from small engines to tractors. He also loved to cook, was an avid reader, writer and even did some painting.

He and his wife started and ran a nonprofit, direct buying food co-op in Saskatoon called Wesmount Co-op, "bridging the gap" for many living at or below the poverty line.

Together, they lived the pioneer life for 8 years, and did so enjoy that experience with the children. He had many ideas and was very gifted as an inventor. He also made wooden toys in his basement shop (Papa's Toy Shop) for 2 years.

Later on, it was decided that the family would move to BC, where we met many wonderful people over the years. Cam sought, most importantly, to have a closer relationship with Yahweh (God), through His Son, Yeshua (Jesus). With his wife and family, he searched the Torah (scriptures) daily and we were blessed by his enthusiasm. He was well known to answer, "Just Ducky," whenever anyone asked his how he was doing.

Cam and his wife were also blessed to be part of "The Place," in Dawson Creek, BC., where he met and shared the Gospel of the Good News of the Kingdom of Heaven. Raymond Wetmore, of similar mind, shared the space for The Place so that many would be blessed there, sharing stories, coffee, soup and more when people wanted to learn about God.

So many people that he met over the years have been touched by the stories he shared. He will be missed by all who know him. May Yahweh's Shalom and Blessings keep him now in His care and in His presence.

"We will see you when the smoke clears," Cam. RIP.
