Obituary of John Edward Bestward
In Loving Memory of John Bestward
A long-time resident of Dawson Creek BC, John Bestward, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, August 19, 2023, at the age of 88 years. John was born in June of 1935, in Grenfell, Saskatchewan, to John Sr. and Effie Bestward.
He married the love of his life, Lorena, in September 1963. Eventually they made their way to Dawson Creek where they raised their family. John worked for Macdonalds Consolidated, a division of Safeway, where he made lasting friendships and contributed to the community.
As retirement embraced John, he found joy and fulfillment in life's simple pleasures. His days were filled with the things he loved most, spending peaceful moments camping, exploring the beauty of nature, sitting in the salt lick at the acreage, riding his scooter, and his A&W visits.
John was predeceased by his cherished wife Lorena Bestward; son Dale Bestward; his parents John Sr. and Effie Bestward; siblings Muriel, Brian, and Lawrence.
He will forever be remembered with love by his sons Russ (Darlene) and Wayne (Norma); daughter Donna (Rodger); many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; as well as numerous extended family and friends.
In accordance with his wishes, no formal funeral service will be held.
John will be laid to rest alongside his beloved wife, Lorena and son Dale in the Dawson Creek Municipal Cemetery.
