Christine Lamoureux

Obituary of Christine Lamoureux

It is with the heaviest of hearts, that we announce the passing of Caroline Christine (Chris) Lamoureux. Chris passed away quietly at home, surrounded by her family and closest loved ones.

Chris was born on August 18, 1951, in Athabasca, AB, she was stoic in her short, yet aggressive battle with cancer as she left this earth on August 3, 2023.

Chris’ greatest passions in life were Arabian horses, jersey milk cows, border collie dogs, poetry, antiques, dancing, family, mini ponies, volunteering, old time homesteading and life on the farm.

If someone was ever in need, Chris was the first to lend a helping hand in any way she could. Whether it was sending a card in the mail, trying to cheer up your day, lending a horse to ride, giving you a place to lay your head, sharing advice, giving money, and even putting meat in your freezer, she was there. Her many years of experience allowed her to help others gain the confidence needed in order for them to create their own farms. Chris had a heart of gold and was the strongest woman we knew. Many times she would go without, just to make sure someone else didn’t.

Chris is predeceased by her daughter Jennifer; parents Walter and Anne Osterlund; sister Kathy; niece Wallace and daughter in law Carrie.

Chris leaves to mourn her loving husband Bob Lamoureux; children, Dean (Marlene) Schlegel, Donnie (Brandi) Lamoureux, Nicole (Colin) Lamoureux, Tyler (Paige) Lamoureux; grandchildren, Reilly, Dale, Hunter, Seth, Becka, Chayse; great grandchildren, Atticus and Harper; bonus children, Tricia Hotchkiss, Adam (Inga) Vienneau, Miranda (Dave) Lupaschuk; bonus grandchildren, Lane, Levi, Walker, Lauren, Taliana; as well as her faithful little furry sidekick Nigel.

The family invites you to join them at service for Chris that will be held Sunday September 3,2023 at 1 pm at the Royal Canadian Legion in Fort St. John, BC. Tea to follow at Heartbreak Acres.
