Obituary of Gordon Walter Stromquist
A pipeline legend, Gordon Walter Stromquist, passed away on Friday, July 14, 2023, surrounded by loved ones.
Gordie was a hardworking, steady, generous man with a great sense of humour and a wonderful family. He impacted everyone he met with his strength and intensity. He was a highly respected operator who helped build the foundations of pipeline infrastructure all over Western Canada.
He is survived by his children: Jeff, Greg, & Barb Stromquist, his siblings: Anne Gagne (Bert), Jack Stromquist (Marlene), & Sylvia Studley (Warren), his grandchildren: Mandi Hazzi (AJ), Mitch (Lauren), Courtney, Karly Stromquist (Darcy Siander), & Sydney Doonan, his grandchildren-in-love Blake & Ally Cox, and his great-grandchildren Olivia, Jonah, & Levi.
Gord will be fondly remembered by his companion and friend Gail Heibert, numerous beloved nieces and nephews, and his former daughter-in-law Debra Stromquist and former son-in-law Gary Doonan.
He is predeceased by his wife Doreen, nephew Garold (Tracy), cousin Mona, and sisters Doreen Lawrence, & Clara Bryce (Roy)

Gordie will be laid to rest beside his wife Doreen at the Peace View Cemetery in Shearer Dale. A service will be held in the spring of 2024 on a date to be announced.
