Obituary of John Greenwood
John was born on Jan 3, 1939 in Yorkshire, England. He came to Canada at the age of eighteen and he joined the Canadian Army. John and his family spent ten years in Canada.
He later joined the Vancouver Police Department for ten years with five of those years being spent on the Mounted Squad.
The family moved to Northern BC in 1973 where John served the town of Hudson's Hope as Alderman, Justice of the Peace and Coroner.
The family then moved to Moberly Lake, BC where they purchased the "Trading Post". It was there that they became a Christian and soon found themselves going back to college.
After years of pastoring several churches, John, Doreen and family returned home to Chetwynd and the north, where they loved it so much.
John passed away on September 5th, 2007 in Chetwynd, B.C. at the age of 68 years.
He will be forever missed by his loving wife Pastor Doreen Greenwood, his three children Mike, Wayne and Heidi with their spouses and children and his new great grandchild, baby Teigan.
John will be forever missed and one great day we again will be united with him.
A funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 11th, 2007 at 1:00 pm at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Chetwynd, Pastor Bill Evans officiated, interment followed in the Tuscoola Mountain Cemetery.
Funeral arrangements were under the care of Reynars Funeral Home and Crematorium, Dawson Creek, B.C.
