Obituary of Branden Merl Giesbrecht
Branden was born on November 16, 1987 in Grande Prairie, Alberta. He moved out to Bonanza at the age of 3 years from Dawson Creek. He attended school in Bonanza until grade 8 and then completing his education in Dawson Creek. While at South Peace Secondary Branden enrolled in the Auto Collision and Refinishing Course from BCIT, while taking the program in grade 12 Branden repainted his truck. He was so excited about that.
In September of 2007 he went to Burnaby to take another auto collision and refinishing program, it was there that he painted his snowboard and completed his course on March 20th.
Branden was very athletic and really enjoyed quadding, snowboarding, playing softball, both in Bonanza and Dawson Creek. He also enjoyed snowmobiling with his friends Charles and Nathan.
Figure skating was a huge part of Branden's life. He would always strut into the arena with a huge ear to ear smile, or that goofy grin that we all came to know and love.
Branden had every hairstyle in the book, from mullets to mohawks and everything in between. He dyed his hair blonde so many times in shades that varied from bright orange to snow white. He wasn't concerned with what other people thought of him, this is one of the many things that we all respected him so much for.
Branden had the best sense of humour and he loved to laugh, he never had to force a smile, it just came naturally. He would do anything to make you smile or laugh. I remember the day that we were all at Tim Hortons. Branden drove into the parking lot and parked his truck just perfectly, so we could all see his new sticker covering his entire back window. The sticker read in huge hot pink italic letters, "Cuz the chicks dig it". Branden jumped out of his truck with the biggest smile we ever saw, he was beaming about his new sticker.
Branden was simply a wonderful person with a kind and caring heart. His family and friends meant the world to him. He was honest, loyal and a true gentleman.
To Carol and Merl you raised an amazing son, to Colton you had an incredible brother. I am so proud to have known him
You will be missed Branden
