Obituary of Annie Grace Bouck
Annie Grace Bouck better known as Grace, was born on December 14, 1944 at the Didsbury Hospital. Her parents were Bob and Annie Spillman. She was the oldest sister to Kent, John and Jean.
Grace went to Elementary and Jr. High School at Cremona and High School in Calgary. She was a good student and received very high marks in every subject.
Grace spent her childhood in the Cremona area and then lived in Vancouver and the surrounding areas as well as Calgary and Edmonton.
In 1981 Grace wrote a letter to Bruce Bouck, whom she remembered from her childhood. After receiving the letter, Burce travelled to Calgary and the two of them went to Vancouver to see her mother. Bruce came home and later that year Grace and her mother came to Bonanza to see him. Bruce remembers the two of them going to a rodeo held in Savanna. Not long after that Bruce and his cousin Larry Spafford went and moved Grace and her daughter to his home in Bonanza.
They were married on August 25, 1986 by a justice of the Peace in Dawson Creek and again that same day by their friend and neighbour Gary Henderson.
Bruce and Grace settled on the land that Bruce had homesteaded and raised grain crops and also had pigs for a few years. In 1994 they had an auction sale and sold their land. They bought a house in Spirit River, where Grace resided until her passing.
Grace had two children, her oldest William Peters or "Woody" was born at Vancouver Grace Hospital July 15, 1963, and a girl, Michelle Peters, was born at Burnaby General Hospital October 11, 1969.
She was a grandmother to Woody's three children Chriss, Shawn Peters and Ferguson Saunders, as well as Michelle's four children, Angel, Holly Shyann and Michael. Grace was a Great Grandmother to Kingston, Tyler and Realynn.
Grace loved cooking, canning, gardening, and her house plants. But her greatest love was Bruce or "Poppa" as he is called by her family.
Bruce and Grace grew up close to each other and were actually first time loves or sweet on each other while they were very young. In a Bible that Grace received in her childhood, she has written in girlish scrawl that they would be married and had actually wrote "Bruce and Grace Bouck" in the front of the Bible. She was probably about 14 at the time. Who knew that so many years later this would come true and that Bruce and Grace would have each other for so long. Love is a precious thing.
Grace passed away on December 7, 2008 at the age of 63 years. A funeral service was held on December 15, at 2:00 pm in the Bonanza Hall, Pastor Gary Henderson Officiated; Interment was in the Bonanza Hill Haven Cemetery.
Grace was predeceased by her mother and father and her son William.
Very Respectfully, Reynars Funeral Home and Crematorium, Dawson Creek, B.C.
