Obituary of Leon Silas Curtis
Mr. Leon Silas Curtis passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 21, 2009 at the Dawson Creek Hospital at the age of 73 years.
Leon was born in Doyles Brook (Chelmsford), NB, he was the son of the late Silas and Margaret (Gallan) Curtis. He lived his early years in Cains River and Blissfield. He was an all-round woodsman, logger, trapper, fly fisherman and guide of the Cains and Miramichi River's with a well known reputation for his famous fly casting and gifted skills in reading the waters where the salmon lay.
Leon leaves to cherish his memory, eleven children, Leon Junior (Linda), Floyd (Cindy), Theresa (Sheldon), Patricia, Pamela (Peter), Gerald (Lynn), Melvin (Debbie), Kenny (Donna), Jamie (Theresa), Troy and Jason., three sisters Winifred Sprague, Nora Macleod, Betty Rodd (Harold), two brothers, Tom (Elva) and Dorwin. Twenty eight grandchildren, Douglas, Nicholas, Deanna, Jessie, David, Sarah, Colton, Linda, Melissa, Adam, Chris, Sondra, Wayne, Nicholas, Jennifer, Justin, Jeremy, Cory, Sylvia, Josh, Alisha, Jessica, Jerry, Joshua, Dawn, Blair, Madison, Alyssa and twelve great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents, son Malcom and two sisters Phyllis Peterson and Louise Mowbray.
A Funeral Service will be held on June 6, 2009 at 3:00 pm at the Upper Blackville United Baptist Church, in Upper Blackville, New Brunswick. Interment will follow.
