Obituary of Yvonne Deloris Keutzer

Yvonne Deloris Keutzer passed away on June 3, 2009 in Chetwynd, BC at the age of 53 after battling a long illness. Yvonne was born on February 9, 1956in Prince George, BC to Leslie and Blanche Hendricks. She wasa baby sister for brother Allan, who was exactly one year older, and sister Louise. Yvonne and her family lived in the Prince George area until she was 15 and then they moved to Jackfish. She met Jack soon after when they were both working at Valley Esso. Yvonne and Jack married on October 27th, 1972and moved briefly to Prince before settling in Lone Prairie. Leslie Keutzer was born on May 26, 1973 in Chetwynd. Clinton Keutzer followed on February 15, 1975. When the boys were small Yvonne spent her time at home with them. She had a garden and raised horses. She loved horses ever since she was small and competed in gymkhanas. When the boys went to school Yvonne began to drive truck occasionally. She and Jack parted ways in 1980 and her and the boys remained in Lone Prairie. She continued to work on a casual basis. Yvonne spent time with Bob Lasser for about 7 years while she raised the boys and helped Willie Hauber with his farming. During this time Yvonne sold the farm and moved to town. Yvonne and the boys moved to Prince and lived with her parents. She met Stan Barizowski and they went throughout BC building parks, including Monkman Park. While she was traveling Les and Clint went to live with their grandparents, Bob and Wilma.When her park building was finished she returned to Chetwynd in the early 90's. She owned a grader and otherequipment and drove truck for Ed Hauber. In her last few years she helped Bob Hauber on his farm as much as her health would allow. Yvonne was very proud of her boys and their achievements. She thought of Alison and Raquel as her daughters and was very happy to have 3 grandchildren, Austin Keutzer, Cole Sutherland, and Brooklyn Keutzer. Yvonne was a very good cook and famous for her cabbage rolls. She loved animals and had many pets. She was really good with horses, liked gardening, and could grow anything.She discovered painting and was quite talented.In her teen years she could mechanic with the best and loved working on cars. She was somewhat of a free spirit and very independent. Yvonne led a full life and did many things worth celebrating. She will be fondly remembered and missed by all who knew her. A memorial service was held on Saturday, June 13, 2009 at 1:00 pm at the Chetwynd Baptist Church, Pastor Bill Evans officiated; interment will be at a later date.
