Obituary of Stephen Gilles

Stephen Gilles, a long time resident of Chetwynd, BC, passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2020, in Chetwynd, at the age of 56 years. Stephen was born to Marjorie and Earle Gilles on January 7, 1964 in Paradise Hill, Saskatchewan. He was the oldest of 3 boys; brother to Michael, of Thailand and Clinton, of Calgary, Alberta. He was raised on a farm in the White Eagle District North of Paradise Hill, Sask. He attended school in Paradise Hill and acquired his welding tickets in Vermillion, AB. He moved to Chetwynd, BC in 1986 and married his first love; Terry Schreiber in 1989. Stephen and Terry went on to have two children: Scott Andrew and Charmaine Elaine. Stephens favourite pastimes included hunting, trapping, fishing, camping, quading, and gardening. He was very proud of his children and grandson Austin. Stephen is survived by his children; Scott and Charmaine (Colton), grandson; Austin, mother; Marjorie (Paul), brothers; Michael (Bow) and Clinton (Dean) and special friend; Pam. Stephen was predeceased by his father Earle Mathias Gilles. Stephen will be forever remembered for the man he was and never forgotten by those that love him. Due to restrictions at this time, Stephens family held a small Celebration of Life on Friday, July 10, 2020 in Chetwynd, BC. Pauline Haycock officiated. Stephen was laid to rest in the Tuscoola Mountain Cemetery after the service.
