Obituary of David Malthus

David Stanley Malthus was born in Waimate, New Zealand on March 9, 1958, and passed away at the Dawson Creek and District Hospital on April 18, 2020 at the age of 62 yrs. He was the youngest of 6 children born to Max and Evelyn Malthus, although he shared a birthday with his twin, Steven, who was a few minutes older. The family emigrated to Dawson Creek, BC Canada from New Zealand in 1969, when the twins were 11. After graduating from South Peace Senior Secondary School, David worked for the Dept. of Highways working on the road to Bella Coola. He got married and they became Foster Parents to many children in Dawson Creek. After their divorce, David moved to Prince George and became a Residential Support Worker in a Group Home. He then moved back to Dawson Creek and continued to support children for INS, until his poor health forced him to retire on disability. David was predeceased by his parents Max and Evelyn Malthus (nee Moffat). He is survived by his 5 siblings, Barry (Barbara) Malthus, Russell (Leeanne) Malthus, Nancy (Bob) Germain, Barbara (Ron) Marwood and Steven (Sue) Malthus. Also, many nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews, and a great great niece. There will be no service at this time, and the family will hold a private gathering when it is appropriate.
