Obituary of Gordon Wayne Haverland

It is with heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Gordon Wayne Haverland, a longtime resident of Dawson Creek, on Thursday, April 23, 2020 at 60 years of age. Gord was born on Thursday, March 24, 1960 in Edmonton, AB and went to school there until 1975 when the family moved to Dawson Creek and purchased Kenver Equipment. Gord did very well in school and was on the Reach For The Top Debate Team. Gord also worked on the farm, The Del Rio, to assist in paying for university. Gord attended the University of Alberta in 1982 taking mechanical engineering. He then went to Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and got his Masters Degree in Metallurgical Engineering. Probably a 4.0 grade average. He had many interests like soccer, cooking, wine making, gardening and farming. You would instantly recognize Gord in Dawson Creek by the fact that he would be wearing shorts, a t-shirt and sandals in the winter! Gord leaves to mourn his dad, Ken (Rose) and his mom Alyce; his sisters Sandy and Launie (Gord Scott); as well as numerous extended family and friends. He will be greatly missed. No service will be held due to Covid 19 virus. Very respectfully Reynars Funeral Home & Crematorium
