Obituary of Nancy Tower

It is with great sadness we make it known that (Nastia) Nancy Tower passed from this earth to a better place on May 7th, 2020 in Dawson Creek BC at the age of 93 years. Nancy was born in Vilna Alberta, her family moved to the Peace Country where they homesteaded land. George Tower swept her off her feet and they lived and raised their family in Rolla and Golata Creek, after George died, she stayed on the farm for a few years farming by herself. She then moved into Dawson Creek until 1970, and then she moved to Vancouver. She lived in North Vancouver, Delta, Surrey, Nanaimo, and Vernon. The North was her home and she came home in 2007. Nancy was 93 years young, still lived on her own taking care of herself. She still insisted on cooking a seven-course meal on Ukrainian Christmas. Entertaining was a joy, for her, having family over was the best gift. She was a fiercely independent woman who told it as it was, when she had something to say, she said it. She still had her car and would go for a drive often just to get out. Mom had a raised garden and amassed an incredible amount of produce from such a small place. Driving up to her place in her trailer court was like entering an Oasis, really a site to behold. Sooo many flowers, her yard and deck were her joy. It was perhaps fitting that the day she left this world was also the last Super Moon of the year, known as, The Flower Moon. She had all her seedlings growing in the windows, ready for spring. Spring and Fall were her favorite seasons. As the saying goes Once a Farmer always a Farmer. Nancy was an artist, self taught in many different mediums, pen and ink, oils, chalk, and acrylic. She loved quilt making, all the grand and great grandchildren got theirs. We will miss you Mom, Grandma, Great Grandma, Sister, and friend, forever and always. The Beautiful memories will remain in our hearts. One thing I will always remember, when she had something to say she thought was important for us, she would say, with finger pointed for emphasis, Kids you Mark My Words. Mom we always will. We will be having a day of Loving and Remembering later this summer, probably the middle of August, when hopefully, people can travel and get together. With Love from her Family.
